The weather has begun to cool down in Southwest Florida but the fishing on Punta Gorda fishing charters is still phenomenal! Redfish continue to feed like mad, snook are fattening up for winter, big trout are all over the place and the variety of fish I’m catching is crazy! Everything from bonito to tarpon and its November! Rods are staying bent on Punta Gorda fishing charters and I can only pray that the fishing stays like this the rest of the year!
Punta Gorda Fishing Charters
The redfish fishing on Punta Gorda Fishing Charters continues to be outstanding. I continue to consistently produce 50 plus fish a trip. The schools are beginning to break up and there are scattered groups on almost every flat. It seems like every sand hole has a fish in it! Most of the fish are in the 5lb. – 10lb. range and 30” fish are common. Live bait continues to be the ticket to put up big numbers but the artificial bite is still really good. As long as we don’t get any big cold fronts the redfish action on Punta Gorda fishing charters should continue to produce these kinds of numbers for the rest of November and hopefully into December.
Boca Grande Fishing Charters
The snook fishing on Punta Gorda fishing charters has really picked up on the flats these past few weeks. They have begun to migrate into the backcountry as they begin to seek warmer water for the upcoming winter. This migration happens every year and the snook feed like mad as they fatten up after their spawn and prepare for winter. I am having 20-30 fish days regularly and most of the fish average 22”-26” but I have had multiple fish over the 33” mark recently. Scaled sardines and pinfish have been the baits of choice but I don’t think they are too picky right now.
Boca Grande Tarpon fishing
I thought October was going to be the last month for Boca Grande tarpon fishing but I was wrong. The cold fronts have been pretty mild and there are still a few tarpon around. If the wind isn’t blowing too bad they are feeding pretty well and most of the fish are in the 80lb. – 100lb range but I have hooked a few well over 100Lbs. I’m not going to tell anyone to rush down and try to catch a tarpon but if you’re here and the weather is nice you may want to give me a call!
The mixed bag recently has been crazy! While fishing on Boca Grande fishing charters I have caught bluefish, bonito, cobia, flounder, Jack crevalle, pompano, Spanish mackerel, kingfish, snapper, grouper and tripletail. All of them are around right now and if the weather stays in the 80’s I don’t see it changing anytime soon.
