MEET CAPTAIN DANNY LATHAM – BOCA GRANDE FISHING GUIDE
Captain Danny Latham is a fourth-generation Floridian and full-time Boca Grande fishing guide who spends more than 250 days a year on the water. He guides anglers throughout Boca Grande Pass, Charlotte Harbor, Pine Island Sound and the surrounding backcountry waters.
With more than 25 years of professional guiding experience and decades of tournament fishing behind him, Danny brings a lifetime of local knowledge to every charter. After years of competing in fishing tournaments around the country, he now focuses on full-time guiding and local tournament fishing.
When you fish with Captain Danny, he’s the captain running your trip. His approach combines preparation, local knowledge and the ability to adjust to changing tides, weather, bait and fish movement throughout the day. He also enjoys teaching, making his trips a good fit for experienced anglers as well as families and first-time fishermen.
Fishing has always been a family tradition for Danny. When he’s not on the water, he spends time with his wife—his high school sweetheart—and their growing family, including grandkids who are already learning those same fishing traditions.

The Legacy of Boca Grande Fishing
Boca Grande has been closely tied to sport fishing for generations and is best known as the “Tarpon Capital of the World.” Its location at the entrance to Charlotte Harbor puts anglers within reach of an incredibly diverse fishery, from Boca Grande Pass and the Gulf beaches to grass flats, mangrove shorelines and protected backcountry waters.
But Boca Grande fishing is about much more than Tarpon. Throughout the year, Captain Danny targets different species as water temperatures, bait and seasonal patterns change across Charlotte Harbor, Pine Island Sound and the waters surrounding Gasparilla Island.
