Tarpon Fishing in Charlotte Harbor
Each spring, migrating Tarpon begin moving into Charlotte Harbor, creating some of the most exciting fishing of the year around Punta Gorda and the lower Harbor. Numbers build through April, with May and June generally bringing the greatest concentrations of fish.
But Tarpon fishing in Charlotte Harbor isn’t limited to Boca Grande Pass or the famous Hill Tides. Depending on the season, tides, bait and fish movement, Captain Danny targets Tarpon throughout Charlotte Harbor and the surrounding waters, following the fish as conditions change.
During the full and new moons of May, June and July, the famous Boca Grande Hill Tides can create incredible fishing as strong outgoing tides flush pass crabs from Charlotte Harbor toward Boca Grande Pass. These tides are an important part of the area’s Tarpon fishery, but they’re only one piece of the season.

THE PUNTA GORDA FISHING EXPERIENCE
