June 2026 Boca Grande Tarpon Fishing Report

Tarpon fishing in Boca Grande Pass has been strong so far this season. The bite has been all about crabs this year. Most of our fish have come on pass crabs, and honestly, we haven’t hooked many tarpon on anything else. Trust me, we’ve tried just about everything.

The 2026 Boca Grande tarpon season continues to produce consistent action for anglers fishing the famous Boca Grande Pass. Large schools of tarpon are moving through the area daily, and June remains one of the best months of the year to experience world-class tarpon fishing in Southwest Florida.

The tarpon are stacked up in the pass and feeding well when conditions line up. Anglers fishing the right tides with fresh crabs are seeing the most consistent action. Beach tarpon fishing has been a little more hit and miss. Much of that can be blamed on the unsettled weather we’ve been dealing with this spring. The beach bite can change quickly, so staying mobile and covering water has been important.

The upper Charlotte Harbor tarpon fishery has also been somewhat inconsistent. The fish are there, and when you find them, they’re willing to bite. The challenge has been that the schools are moving constantly and have been difficult to pattern from day to day. One morning they may be concentrated in one area, and by the next day they’ve moved several miles away. If we can get a stretch of calmer weather, the upper harbor should become much more predictable and provide some excellent opportunities for anglers fishing with our Punta Gorda fishing charters.

While tarpon continue to steal the spotlight, anglers fishing throughout Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande, and Pine Island Sound are also finding good action on redfish, snook, and trout during the early morning hours before the summer heat sets in.
